touring-focused variant of the standard 390 Adventure. It gets a 19-inch front tyre and alloys but keeps the same eye-catching aesthetics with a few premium bits missing. That includes cornering traction control, cornering ABS, cruise control, and riding modes.
These deficiencies aside, the 390 Adventure X is also impressive in some respects. The comprehensive electronics package comprises of a bi-directional quickshifter, ride-by-wire throttle, off-road ABS and Bluetooth-enabled H50 5-inch TFT colour display with turn-by-turn navigation. It also features LED lighting all around along with an LED projector headlamp.
The 390 Adventure’s standard variant features fully adjustable suspension, however, the X version gets non-adjustable WP Apex front forks and preload adjustable monoshock, as per Bikewale. Apart from these differences, both versions of the R 1300 GS come with 200mm front and 205mm rear suspension travel. The X variant will still likely be capable off-road.
It also features a seat height of 825mm and a ground clearance of 227mm. It comes with a 14.5 litres fuel tank that returns a real-world range of 300-350km per tank. At 182kg, it is 14kg lighter than the Royal Enfield Himalayan 450.
Powering the 390 Adventure X is the same 399cc single-cylinder LC4c engine which makes 45.3 bhp at 8,500rpm and 39 Nm of torque at 6,500rpm. This liquid-cooling engine is attached with a 6-speed gearbox and a PASC slipper clutch to ensure smooth and punchy power delivery.
It is also likely that the KTM 390 Adventure X will be priced around Rs. 2.90 lakh (ex-showroom) in India and will go on sale in the following days, with
