Mercedes Maybach SL 680 to Make Grand Debut in India on March 17

Mercedes Maybach SL 680 to Make Grand Debut in India on March 17 : Mercedes-Benz India is all set to launch the Maybach SL 680 Monogram Series in India on March 17, 2025. The high-end droptop was first unveiled globally back in August 2024 and is being marketed as the most sporting Maybach ever built.Stylish front persists alongside slatted grille, dual-tone paint scheme and more The interior receives white leather seats and chrome dashboard trim585hp, 4.0-litre, twin-turbo V8; 0-100kph in 4.1 seconds

The SL 680 uses the standard SL Roadster’s decidedly menacing aesthetic as a base and adds some trademark Maybach flourishes, perhaps most notably up front in the form of a traditional grille with slimlighted vertical slats. Further down, the front bumper is tamer in comparison with the SL Roadster and is finished with chrome. The soft roof and the bonnet are treated in Obsidian Black with Maybach logos covering the entire surface. To the side, the SL 680’s wheels feature a custom multi-spoke design that’s classic Maybach, and the wing mirrors are finished in black. Like the front, the rear bumper of the SL 680 mellows out the aggression of the SL Roadster with a smoother, more chrome-decked appearance.

Inside, the SL 680 is the epitome of opulence with Nappa leather-clad seating and dash in white, satin silver AC vent finish, new three-spoke steering wheel, and Maybach logos on the roll hoops. Sadly, to pamper passengers, Mercedes has also made the SL 680’s exhaust system quieter than the SL Roadster to further reduce cabin noise, although the suspension has also been biased toward passenger comfort.

All the sporting credentials of the standard SL Roadster have been dropped in the Maybach’s design, but the SL 680 is still powered by a 4.0-litre, twin-turbo V8 with a beefy 585hp and 800Nm available – 109hp and 50Nm more than the SL 55. The unit sends power to all four wheels via a 9-speed automatic, and can go from rest to 100kph in just 4.1 seconds.

It is now to be seen what price will Mercedes-Benz announce for Maybach SL 680 in India. The SL 55 Roadster is priced from Rs 2.35 crore (ex-showroom) right now, so we’d expect the Maybach SL 680 to be considerably pricier than that.
