Want a Mahindra Thar Roxx : Even after 6 months of its launch earlier in August last year, demand for the Mahindra Thar Roxx continues to be strong in the Indian offroad market. Although Mahindra has ramped up production capacity for the legendary off-roader – it is now manufacturing over 9,000 units of the Thar 3-door and Roxx 5-door in a ratio of 30:70 per month – delivery timelines remain on the higher side, with buyers having to wait long enough (in some cases, even for select variants it can be up to 18 months).

However, dealers have informed us that the longest waiting period of up to 18 months is for the base-spec Thar Roxx MX1 – offered with both petrol-manual and diesel-manual configurations, priced between Rs 12.99 lakh and Rs 13.99 lakh. The highest end Thar Roxx AX7L 4×4 variants – offered in diesel-manual and diesel-automatic forms and priced from Rs 21.59 lakh to Rs 23.09 lakh – have the same 18 month wait time.

Those who purchased the mid-spec MX3 (Rs 14.99 lakh-17. 49 lakh), AX3L (Rs 16.99 lakh), MX5 (Rs 16.49 lakh-19. 09 lakh) and AX5L (Rs 18.99 lakh-21. 09 lakh) trims will have to wait as much as 6 months for delivery, whereas deliveries for the highest-spec Thar Roxx AX7L 4×2 (Rs 19.49 lakh-20. 99 lakh) variants will be up to 10 months.

Currently, the Thar 3-door is available with waiting periods as long as up to 5 months, with the 4WD Convertible Hard Top trim taking the longest to be delivered. The 4WD Hard Top petrol and diesel variants along with the RWD Hard Top diesel have a waiting period of 3 months or less. Those in the order queue for a Thar Hard Top petrol in RWD guise will need to wait just a touch over 2 months for the delivery of their new machine. Compared to the Thar waiting periods in October 2024, these delivery times are slightly higher, subject to the variant in question.

Mahindra Thar Pricing Currently Ranges From Rs 11.50 Lakh To Rs 17.60 Lakh That’s mated to the 6-speed manual and torque converter automatic transmissions, along with the 2.0-litre direct-injection turbo-petrol engine and 2.2-litre diesel engine, both detuned compared to the Roxx.
