Before this update, Maruti Suzuki had equipped only two airbags in the Celerio as standard. In our opinions, that’s a welcome move towards making smaller, more affordable cars safer for passengers and we hope Maruti Suzuki introduces this feature in all of its models in the near future.
The Celerio also gets a price increase of up to 30,000 compared to the previous model, except in the case of the ZXi AMT trim. The ZXi+ variants get the highest premium, increasing by Rs 32,500 over the outgoing prices, while the ZXi MT and entry-level LXi MT variants follow closely behind with a Rs 27,500 hike. While prices of the VXi variants have gone up by up to Rs 21,000, the Celerio VXi CNG MT only costs Rs 16,000 more. The new Celerio is now priced at Rs 5.64-7.37 lakh, ex-showroom, up from Rs 5.49-7.14 lakh, ex-showroom, based on the new prices.
