BMW R 18 2025 Update : For the 2025 model year, BMW has refreshed its R 18 lineup. The bikes receive much needed features, a touch more torque and now Euro 5+ compliant. It will definitely find a way to the Indian market bu till then let’s check what has changed on the classic cruiser motorcycle.
The revisions are more variant specific in the lineup but surely the most big change comes with the engine. Powering it is the same 1,802cc boxer-twin motor that makes 91 bhp and 163 Nm of torque. That’s 5 Nm more compared to the prior motorcycle. It is mated to a 6-speed transmission and the R 18 range is shaft-driven.
The rest of the lineup also receives a new favourite button for the 10.25-inch display, along with a two-tone red metallic paint job. Besides it, there are more optional packages available and among one, the comfort package features Cruise Control, heated grips, a lockable fuel filler cap and a hill start assist.
Updates include new front and rear mud guards, and new The standard R 18 comes with an 18-inch rear wheel instead of a 16-inch rim, but the previous 19-inch and 16-inch offerings are available as optional accessories. New exhaust design, comfort tuning on the suspension, USB Type C port and LED DRLs have also been made standard.
The R 18 Classic also benefits from a revised mudguard, the addition of the USB port and LED DRL, and also benefit from the optional black pack. It also now has a 19-inch front wheel instead of 16-inches. The R 18 Transcontinental and Roctane models were just introduced, so they get little or no changes.
We don’t have any word on the pricing of these motorcycles yet, but we can expect it to see a small spike. BMW Motorrad has traditionally offered a large part of its international portfolio to customers in India, and chances are these bikes will soon too find its way into our market.
