Buying a New Car? Here’s Why a PDI Check is a Game-Changer

Buying a New Car :The most important action you can take before taking delivery of a new car is to have it inspected. Before they take delivery of the vehicle, consumers have an opportunity to inspect it, including looking for scratches, dents, rust or other physical damage. While this can be tricky, there are some new companies that assist buyers in getting their cars inspected.

Companies like PDIExpert, Droom, Zekardo etc. are already operational and assist their customers in checking if their allocated vehicle is damaged or not and only charges nominal fees. This usually include a detailed check of the engine, transmission, brakes, tyres, lights, air conditioning system, paintwork, interior features and more, helping the customers.

Recently, Cars 24 also launched a new Pre Delivery Inspection (PDI) service, ‘CarTruth’, to assist customers with the inspection of their vehicles before delivery. The company said it has a track record of unearthing latent issues that many buyers are unaware of like odometer size, undisclosed accident damage, recovery status, brake failure, battery, and damage caused by flooding, which are missed most of the time.

The firm further added that customers who are interested can download/update the Cars24 application or head over to the web page and enter a mobile number to get started. The customers will then see the ‘Get Car Checked’ option and will be able to book it at their convenience.

CarTruth offers buyers to check out any car, new or secondhand, at any location in India for a nominal fee of Rs 999. Conducted with the assistance of automotive experts, the study helps consumers avoid problematic cars or negotiate a better deal — so drivers don’t accidentally end up with a “lemon.”
