Ducati has launched its new DesertX Discovery in India priced at Rs 21,78,200 (ex-showroom). This means it costs Rs 3,45,000 more than the standard model and is Rs 1,92,600 cheaper than the top Rally trim. What’s New?
Just like other Ducati DesertX trim, the new Ducati DesertX Discovery comes in the form of an adventure bike. The motorcycle dons a unique Thrilling Black/Ducati Red livery. One of these accessories is a taller windscreen that protects the rider from high-speed windblast during those long stints in the saddle.

The Adventure bike also comes with handguards, a reinforced bash plate, as well as a radiator grill and engine guard with water pump protection, as standard. It also features a centre stand which will allow it to be parked on uneven surfaces with ease and allow for puncture repairs to be a walk in the park. The ADV also adds a front bullbar protector.

The Ducati DesertX Discovery is powered by the same 937cc, liquid-cooled, L-twin engine as other variants. It has its peak output of 110PS at 9,250rpm and 92Nm at 6,500rpm, with a 6-speed gearbox featuring a slip-and-assist clutch and bi-directional quickshifter.
The DesertX Discovery comes with the same 5-inch TFT instrument console as the stock variant, feature-wise. It offers do features including turn-by-turn navigation, call & SMS alerts, and music control with smartphone connectivity. There’s 6 ride modes: Touring, Sport, Wet, Urban, Enduro, and of course, Rally. Other rider aids available to the rider on the bike come in the form of a 3-level cornering ABS system, wheelie control, engine braking control, cruise control, traction control, self-cancelling indicators, and a steering damper.

At its front end, the Ducati DesertX Discovery gets a KYB inverted fork, complete with full adjustability, while rear suspension duty is handed off to KYB mono-shock with full adjustability. Braking hardware consists of 320mm dual disc brakes at the front and a 265mm rear disc brake, with two-channel ABS available as standard. Both ends are fitted with 21-inch front and 18-inch rear cross-spoked wheels that are equipped with 90-section front and 150-section rear Pirelli Scorpion Rally STR tubeless tyres.
The Adventure comes with a 21-litre fuel tank and a kerb weight of 210kg. Standard seat height is 875mm adjustable to 890mm/845mm with optional accessories, making it a bit more approachable for shorter and taller riders alike.
