GTI is one of the most loved hatchbacks globally and is now ready to step foot in the Indian space. Yes, you read it right! The German auto manufacturer has been studying the Indian market. Now it appears as if the plan is back on because the company will reportedly launch the model around August 2025.According to the reports, the Golf GTI will launch via the government’s

homologation-free import route. Price-wise, it is to be positioned in the range of Rs 40 lakh to Rs 45 lakh, and will take on the likes of Mini Cooper S.Globally, the model is offered with a 2.0-liter four-cylinder, turbocharged petrol engine. It produces 265 Bhp of max power to 370 Nm of peak torque and comes paired with a 7-speed DSG unit.

The ID has already been exposed by the comapny. 4, providing the public a close look at the model. The company has also confirmed its plans to introduce the electric crossover in the country during the conference. But the company has yet to confirm a specific launch date.

MEB platform is used to make the EV. It comes with two battery options. Overseas, it is available with 52-kWh and 77-kWh battery pack options. The former has a commendable range of about 340 km, whereas the latter, comes with a 500 km range on a single charge. 2025 Taigun
