Honda vs TVS : Honda has officially launched the 2025 Hornet 2.0 in India, and it costs Rs 1,56,953 (ex-showroom, Delhi). The motorcycle gets a host of features. Its closest rival is the TVS Apache RTR 200 4V, which costs Rs 1,48,620 (ex-showroom, Delhi).

Instrument Console

2025 Honda Hornet 2.0 4.2-inch colour TFT display} The 2025 Honda Hornet 2.0 gets a 4.2-inch colour TFT display. The display is quite legible and has a nice sharp feel to the layout. It displays the speed, fuel levels, tachometer, eco-riding indicator, trip meters (two), side stand indicator, time, gear-position indicator, real-time mileage and other tell-tale lights. Honda RoadSync app(just like the one in the Dynamite) makes sure the TFT display will also support Bluetooth connectivity for turn-by-turn navigation, call & SMS alerts and control of music.

The Apache RTR 200 4V comes with an LCD instrument console, which is quite info−heavy, and can be problematic to read while riding. The LCD console displays the fuel levels, speed, gear−position indicator, average speed, current speed, trip meters and the riding mode you are in. Bluetooth connectivity via TVS’ SmartXonnect app for turn-by-turn navigation, call & SMS alerts and music control is also supported in the LCD console. The mobile app also displays telemetry from the ride including lean angle, lap timer and crash alert.

Riding Modes

Also, it lacks riding modes, although being equipped with ride-by-wire throttle.Meanwhile, the TVS Apache RTR 200 4V gets three modes — Sports, Urban and Rain. The changeable riding modes also change the outputpower of the motorcycle – Sports mode gives all the power output, Urban and Rain modes give less power output. Rider AidsTo ensure a safe ride, Honda has equipped the 2025 Hornet 2.0 with dual-channel ABS and switchable traction control.It also features dual-channel ABS which can be deactivated on the rear wheel. Well, the bike misses out on traction control, however.

Engine

The Honda Hornet 2.0 rides on the same OBD-2B compliant 184cc, air-cooled, single-cylinder motor churning out 17PS at 8,500rpm and 15.7Nm at 6,000rpm. The engine comes mated to a five-speed gearbox with slip-and-assist clutchTVS Apache RTR 200 4V is powered by a 197.75cc single-cylinder, air & oil-cooled engine that generates 20.82PS at 7,800rpm and 17.25Nm at 7,250rpm in Sports mode. It comes paired with a 5-speed gearbox, (slip-and-assist) clutched.

Underpinnings

The Honda Hornet 2.0 comes with an inverted telescopic fork and a preload-adjustable monoshock at the back. A 276mm front and 220mm rear petal disc brake takes care of stopping duties. The bike features a fuel tank capacity of 14.1 litres and a kerb weight of 153kg
