Lexus LX 500d Demand Soars : Lexus has suspended bookings for the LX500d. Indian market currently the flagship model of the Japanese brand. The LX500d debuted as a rival to the LC300 Land Cruiser, with prices starting at Rs 2.82 crore (ex-showroom).The pause in bookings can only come either the vehicle too popular or there could be a new version of the same coming. Lexus recently posted a teaser on social media that points more towards the latter. The LX500d could be substituted for the hybrid petrol variant.
It had a 3.3L diesel V6 engine making a maximum power of 308 bhp and 700 Nm of torque. It was mated to a 10-speed automatic transmission that sent power to all four wheels. Despite being one of the poshest SUVs getting around back in the day, the LX500d still came with a proper 4×4 setup, complete with low range and locking diffs.
Significant features included a 12.3-inch infotainment screen, a 25-speaker Mark and Levinson stereo system, ventilation for the front and rear seats, 22-inch wheels and 10 airbags. It competes against the likes of the Mercedes Maybach GLS, the BMW X7 and the full size Range Rover as well.
Hybrid or 2023 LX600h — 3.4L twin turbocharged petrol engine coupled with a hybrid setup. In terms of power, it produces 457 bhp and 790 Nm of torque. The hybrid option is not available in other markets, but there is a 3.4L twin-turbocharged V6 engine. We may also see a small bump in the price. Internationally, there was also an off-road focused Overtrail variant, which could come here alongside the regular LX for off-road enthusiasts seeking a more rugged luxury barge.
