Ola S1 Pro+ vs S1 Pro Gen 3: Which One Should You Buy

Ola S1 Pro+ vs S1 Pro Gen 3 : Ola has introduced their new third-gen electric scooters, and among them is a new top-spec variant of the S1 Pro called the S1 Pro+. All the Ola electric scooters have seen price reductions, thanks to the new platform and recently redesigned motor. They all have chain drive instead of the older belt-drive system. The range for the S1 Pro now begins with a price of Rs 1.14 lakh, ex-showroom.

The scooters receive minor design updates that include a new seat which Ola claims is now longer, and the addition of a few decals to lend it a sporty look. That being said, the differences between the Ola S1 Pro and the Ola S1 Pro+ stem from the specs inside. Let’s break down the differences.

New Ola S1 Pro third-gen

The overall design of the S1 Pro remains largely the same, apart from the addition of a new colour palette and an elongated seat. There are a number of internal changes. The S1 Pro range now gets a new brake-by-wire technology, which relies on sensors and enables the motor to assist in braking. The S1 Pro Gen 3 is offered with two different battery capacity options: 3kWh and 4kWh.

This 3kWh battery pack equipped Ola S1 Pro features a claimed range of 176km with a top speed of 117kmph. According to Ola, the acceleration from 0–40kmph is achieved in 2.7 seconds, and the battery pack can also be recharged in nine hours at home. The scooter comes with three ride modes: Sports, Normal, and Eco, with the Sports mode being a paid function.

Ola Ola S1 Pro Gen 3 4kWh battery pack output comes with a claimed 242km range on a full charge. Ola claims the top speed is 125kmph and 0–40kmph takes 2.7 seconds on the new scooter, the same as the 3kWh version. It has a charging time of six hours, four ride modes — Hyper, Sports, Normal and Eco — and a paid option for the Hyper mode.

It features no design changes on the new S1 Pro+ and the list of features remains the same as well. There are two variants of the S1 Pro+ — the 4kWh and the 5.3kWh variant. The former has an official range of 242km on a full charge, 0-40kmph in 2.3 seconds and the maximum speed is 128kmph. Charging up the S1 Pro+ 4kWh variant takes six hours, with the scooter getting Hyper, Sports, Normal and Eco ride modes in standard.

Top of the range in the S1 Pro+ family is the 5.3kWh version. The scooter has a claimed range of 320km, the longest officially claimed range for any scooter in India, while the top speed is limited to 141kmph. Acceleration too is brisk — 0 to 40kmph in 2.1 seconds. The ride modes have not changed, and a full charge from home can take eight hours and forty minutes.
