Highlights included multiple Ford Mustangs (Ford was the one to pioneer the mass-produced V8, remember), some with huge bus superchargers sticking out of the bonnet, Mach 1’s, big 427s and legendary fastbacks.

There are also a handful of Pontiac Firebirds, including a few cars with the iconic early small-block, and others bearing the world’s famous square lamp, flaming bird decals on the bonnet. It’s also got a handful of Chevrolets, including multiple Corvettes and Camaros, and, inevitably, a fastback Charger and a Viper powered by an 8-litre V10, the likely pinnacle of the list.
2025 JDM Classics of the Modern Classic Rally

Italians, though, do it better, and this time we have a bonus. Three different special Ferrari V8s, no less. F430 Scuderia, with its track-focused upgrades, a 458 Speciale Aperta – the last of the great naturally aspirated V8s, and the 488 Pista -the big CGP twin turbo special with 711bhp. What a set they are and they are all in red Even our Lamborghini Gallardo Superleggera, or lightweight, which packs four-wheel-drive hardware and a massive V10 out back, weighs in at just under 1,500kg.
From Ferrari to Alfa, and half a dozen or so stunning examples. From Pininfarina’s sublime Duetto convertible to a 1750 GTV penned by the master Giugiaro and a super-rare six-cylinder 2600. Also Alfas sporting sedans, the Berlina and Super that actually also helped BMW define its brand. We even get three of the cool Maseratis: the Biturbo, the world’s first twin—turbo production car; the elegant 4200 with its classic lines; and a more recent MC Straddle with Ferrari V8 and superb front-engine sharp handling.

Also numerous are BMWs of all generations, ranging from E21s and E30s, to M3s with stout V8s underhood. Even the early TDS diesels still sound super smooth. Ahead of them, the Mercedes SLs, the classic R129 albeit deservedly responsible for the Youngtimer or Modern Classic, phenomenon Availability also includes the tough-as-nails R107 SL, and even a pair of SECs that still have lines that put some of today’s coupes to shame. Also Porsche, from original 356, an SC, a 996 911 and a 997 or two, including a turbo.
