Nissan Magnite CNG Set for April Launch : According to a source, a new CNG version of Nissan Magnite will be launched by April this year and will be offered as a dealer-level accessory kit. The new variant comes soon after its cousin, the Renault Kiger, offered a dealer-level CNG kit, alongside the Kwid and Triber.

What To Expect From Nissan Magnite CNG?
CNG kit will come with a 1-year dealer warranty
Similar to the Renault Kiger CNG, sources claim that CNG kit will be available only for the 1.0-litre natural aspirated petrol engine with a manual gearbox. Magnite CNG mileage is expected to be around 18-22km per kg. Detailed specs are not available yet, including power and torque outputs with CNG kit.
The Nissan Magnite CNG will come with the same warranty as the standard SUV which is 3 years or 1,00,000 km, whichever is earlier. The CNG kit will also be covered under a 1-year warranty that the dealer will offer. Even dealers will also updating RC on the basis of this conversion.
Renault charges Rs 79,500 more for the CNG kit on the Kiger over the corresponding non-CNG variant, and a similar premium is likely for the Magnite CNG as well. Uno Minda Group will provide dealers with the CNG kits. Whether the CNG kit will be available for all versions or just select trims is yet to be known.

According to retail sales data from the Vahan portal, the four carmakers in this segment collectively sold 7,15,213 CNG passenger vehicles in India in the previous calendar year, which represents a robust 35 percent year-on-year growth. Maruti Suzuki, which has a CNG lineup of 15 models, has a stranglehold on the segment with a 71.60 percent market share. Tata Motors and Hyundai
come next with 16.13 percent and 10.04 percent market shares respectively, and Toyota comes in at 2.21 percent.Due to its uptick in demand and adoption, Honda & Renault have jumped on the bandwagon with dealer-level CNG kits, and Nissan will too shortly. The CNG variant on the Magnite can open up new buyers for the compact SUV.
