Honda Achieves E20 Petrol Compliance What It Means for You

Honda Achieves E20 Petrol Compliance : Honda Cars India on Thursday announced that it has obtained E20 petrol compliance certification for all the models it sells in the country. The company has also gotten the Elevate, City e:HEV, City, and Amaze models compliant.The feat underscores Honda’s contribution to sustainable mobility and the transformation of India towards greener and cleaner public transportation, said the automaker in a statement.

The company has been using E20 petrol since 2009 and all Honda cars manufactured in India from January 1, 2009, are compatible with E20 materials, it said.E20 petrol can be freely used in all existing Honda cars with no concerns related to the durability of the vehicle and no requirement to change any part in the vehicle, the automaker said.

“Since the Government of India is looking at introducing greener fuels in a mission mode, the latest compliance certification for all our current models at this juncture is a step in the same direction,” said Honda Cars India Vice President (Marketing & Sales) Kunal Behl.The Government of India has made it mandatory for all Gasoline-fueled mono-fuel and bi-fuel vehicles with positive ignition engines, including Hybrids, manufactured on or after April 1, 2025, to comply with prevailing emission norms on certification with Ethanol (E20) fuel.
