Mercedes Maybach SL 680 Arrives in India : On March 17, 2025 Mercedes Benz will be presented with the Maybach SL680 Monogram series. This is be the most luxurious but also the most exotic SL ever produced. In fact, this is the first time an SL has received the Maybach treatment.
As for the regular SL roadster, the Maybach SL680 brings a ton of chrome accents. There is a massive chrome Maybach grille, polished alloy wheels, chrome adornments on the front bumper, side skirts and rear bumpers. The bonnet’s also been coated in a darker shade with Maybach logos scattered throughout.
The interior features soft leather and a two tone paint scheme. The vertically oriented infotainment display is also able to tilt back to help reduce glare while driving with the top dropped. It also happens to be a soft top, as opposed to many of the previous SL’s which all wore hard tops. Now, since this is also a Maybach, we expect there to be a wide range of customization options on offer, complete with exclusive graphics for both the digital cluster and on the new infotainment screen for Maybach cars.
Powering the car is a twin-turbocharged 4.0L V8 developing 577 bhp and 800 Nm of torque. It powers all four wheels through a 9-speed automatic transmission via a 4matic all-wheel-drive system. The sprint from 0-100 kmph will take a mere 4.1 seconds and up to a speed of 260 kmph. While that sounds less, the Maybach SL680 — like most Maybachs — is less speed, more plushness while moving than outright vehicle velocity.
There is no such wording for an official launch of the vehicle and we, feel that Mercedes will for now just showcase the vehicle so that it could understand customer reaction and the demand for this sort of a vehicle in India.
