Skoda Enyaq EV in Production : Skoda has begun production of its new Enyaq electric SUV at the automaker’s primary manufacturing plant in the Czech Republic. Also, Skoda Enyaq becomes the Czech automaker’s second vehicle to wear it’s cutting-edge Modern Solid design philosophy that is found on the Skoda Elroq as well. Interestingly, Skoda Enyaq also expected to make here debut here in India. The VW AG-owned Czech carmaker has been working towards the launch of its first electric car in India in September this year. Skoda did not confirm whether the upcoming electric car is the Enyaq
In India, the Skoda Enyaq iV was expected to make its debut sometime in 2024. It would have been the first electric offering from Skoda in India. It is a long time coming, but the automaker has confirmed that it will launch the EV in India. The Skoda Enyaq is derived from the Volkswagen Group’s modular electric toolkit (MEB).
Skoda builds the Enyaq alongside the Octavia and the Elroq electric compact SUV. It comes out of Volkswagen AG’s first plant in Europe to build internal combustion engine and battery electric vehicles (BEVs) on the same line. The automaker has stated that this approach will allow a swift response to the brand´s transition to electric mobility. The same plant also produces battery systems for its electric vehicles based on the MEB electric vehicle platform.
Speaking of the Skoda Enyaq, the EV comes with both two battery sizes and three powertrain options, with power outputs ranging from 204 bhp to 286 bhp. Enyaq 60 and Enyaq 85 models wear a single electric motor and rear-wheel drive, while the Enyaq 85x have a second electric motor at the front, giving them all-wheel drive. In terms of range, the EV is rated for up to 587 kilometres between charges for the Enyaq Coupe, while the Enyaq is rated for up to 577 kilometres.
