Yamaha Slashes R3 & MT-03 Prices : Flagship sport and naked bikes in India from Yamaha, the R3 and MT-03, get big price drops of up to Rs 1.10 lakh.R3, MT-03 are CBUs in IndiaThe two share most of their mechanicalsNow, both are priced nearer their competitionDirt cheap at Rs 3.60 lakh, down from Rs 4.65 lakhRefusing to buckle under the pressure of their competitors, Yamaha have slashed prices across its most
popular models, the YZF-R3 being one of them. Now priced, it undercuts the Rs 4.20 lakh Aprilia RS 457 and is placed as less expensive than the Rs 3.43 lakh Kawasaki Ninja 300 and the Rs 3.21 lakh KTM RC 390. Similarly, the MT-03 gets an even heftier Rs 1.10 lakh cut, bringing it down to a more palatable Rs 3.50 lakh-figure. The MT-03’s key competitors are the KTM 390 Duke, which is priced at Rs 3.13 lakh, and the upcoming Aprilia Tuono 457, which will reportedly be priced around Rs 4 lakh.
The R3 and MT-03 share their mechanical base with one another and differ only in their respective design and how the rider sits on the bike. This price cut is probably because Yamaha has not managed to sell as many units of its 321cc duo in India as it would have liked, thanks to their rather optimistic launch prices. These prices will apply starting February 1, 2025.
